Hero-Arkadag and the President of Azerbaijan discussed priority aspects of cooperation

On Sunday, August 10, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, TDH reports.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliyev noted with satisfaction the current high level of relations between the two countries. In this regard, the head of the friendly country said that he recalls with warm feelings the recent visit of Hero Arkadag to the Republic of Azerbaijan, which became an important event in the history of bilateral relations.

During the conversation, the importance of the agreements reached and the documents signed during the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to the United States was emphasized. Hero Arkadag congratulated the President and the people of the friendly country on achieving these historic agreements.

In turn, Ilham Aliyev congratulated Hero-Arkadag and the head of the Turkmen state on the successful completion of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries held in Avaza and expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to the Azerbaijani delegation. Taking the opportunity, Aliyev conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people said that this International Forum is an important step in strengthening cooperation between landlocked countries, noting that the Azerbaijani delegation participated in this Conference at a high level.

During the conversation, the importance of the trilateral meeting between Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, held in Avaza on the initiative of Hero-Arkadag, was emphasized. In this regard, the interlocutors noted the existence of great opportunities for further expansion of cooperation between the three countries in a wide range of areas, in particular, in the development of transport and communication corridors.

It was also noted that, at the initiative of Hero-Arkadag, a meeting of the heads of state of the Central Asian countries was held in Avaza, where issues related to the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Central Asian countries, which will be held in Tashkent in the fall, were discussed. During the meeting, Hero-Arkadag's initiative to join Azerbaijan in this cooperation format was voiced.

As part of the conversation, the parties also exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral relations. Hero-Arkadag, taking the opportunity, invited President Ilham Aliyev to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time.

The telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.
