Two pre-conference events were held at the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas (IUOG) on June 14 on the eve of the International Scientific and Practical Conference: «Energy Prospects, New Technologies for the Development of Hydrocarbon Deposits».
During the first meeting, held on the theme “Affordable and Clean Energy: A youth outlook”, representatives of the UN, academia and students of Turkmenistan discussed the Sustainable Development Goals, including the issues of ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources.
Discussions were held with the participation of students from the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and the International University for the Humanities and Development, their participants exchanged knowledge and experience in implementing ambitious ideas on sustainable energy, necessary to strengthen the economy and protect ecosystems.
During the second event on the topic “Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE): Perspectives and opportunities for specialists of oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan”, a presentation was made on the activities of the Society, its goals and conditions of membership, the history of creation and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation with universities and research institutes of Turkmenistan.
