In Turkmenistan in January 2024, the GDP growth rate was 6.3%

 As a result of the successful implementation of comprehensive measures, a stable growth rate of Turkmenistan's GDP was ensured in January, which amounted to 6.3%.  This was announced by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, who presented a report on macroeconomic indicators for the first month of this year at a government meeting on February 16.

 The Vice-Chairman also noted that the volume of products produced increased by 8.2% compared to the same period in 2023, and retail trade turnover increased by 10.6%.  The revenue side of the State Budget for January was fulfilled at the level of 104.8%, and the expenditure side – 97.1%.

 Wages at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 10% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.  Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships have been funded in a timely manner,” the Vice-Chairman said.

 The volume of capital investments disbursed from all sources of financing in January compared to the same period last year increased by 24.6%.

 After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of carrying out work for the successful implementation of the tasks defined for 2024 in the Country’s Socio-Economic Development Program for 2022–2028.

 Emphasizing the need to take appropriate measures to maintain the dynamics of GDP growth and the coordinated development of industries, the head of Turkmenistan addressed the Vice-Chairman with a number of specific instructions.
