Turkmenistan proposes to create an alliance on global energy security cooperation

At the Dubai World Summit Turkmenistan proposed to the governments of interested countries to create an alliance on cooperation in the field of global energy security and sustainable development. This was stated in his speech at the forum by the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
The head of the country's Foreign Ministry noted that energy sustainability is an important priority for sustainable development in the context of countries with economies in transition.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, “In this regard, in the near future, at the global level, it is necessary to concentrate efforts aimed at solving the following tasks:
- first, - the creation of a new international platform for cooperation between governments, energy companies and financial institutions;
- secondly, - ensuring the exchange of best practices in managing energy risks;
- thirdly, - development of effective tools for solving global and regional interruptions in energy supply;
- fourthly, - to stimulate joint investment in strategic energy infrastructure projects of international importance;
- fifth, - to promote the creation of transparent and competitive energy markets.
“Following these goals and objectives, Turkmenistan invites the governments of interested countries to create an alliance for cooperation in the field of global energy security and sustainable development,” the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan stressed in his speech.
Rashid Meredov also noted that according to Ashgabat, the main principle of partnership under such an alliance should be the indivisibility and interconnection of the goals of access to accessible, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources for all.
