President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday received the Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran Javad Ovji, TDH reports.

The guest conveyed warm words of greetings from the President of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi to the Head of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes to the leader of the friendly state, expressing confidence in the fruitfulness of the upcoming bilateral meetings and negotiations during the current visit, which will contribute to the further development of relations between our countries.

A special topic of discussion was interaction in the oil and gas sector, for the expansion of which, in the general opinion, new opportunities are opening up.

“I believe that the exchange of views between specialists in this field will be useful for finding new forms and methods of cooperation and their practical implementation,” the head of state emphasized, expressing the readiness of the Turkmen side to consider all proposals and initiatives of Iranian partners.

During the meeting, which was held in a businesslike, constructive manner, a high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran, based on the age-old traditions of friendship, good neighborliness and equality, was stated.

It was noted that interstate relations, built on the principles of mutual respect and understanding, are successfully developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats, in particular, within the framework of international organizations.

The strengthening of fruitful interaction is greatly facilitated by working visits of government delegations of the two countries at different levels, as well as ongoing consultations and negotiations.

As noted, productive ties have been established between Turkmenistan and Iran in the trade and economic sphere, the fuel and energy complex, in the fields of transport and communications, construction, agriculture, and relations between representatives of the private sector of the two countries are being strengthened.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ovji expressed confidence in the further progressive development of constructive interstate dialogue.
