 On Thursday, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, TDH reports.

 The President of Turkmenistan noted that he received with great regret the news of a terrorist attack in the city of Kerman (IRI), which led to numerous casualties and injuries.  Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also expresses deep condolences to you and the entire fraternal Iranian people in connection with the tragic event, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized.

 Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, on behalf of the people of Iran, as well as on his own behalf, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the words of empathy and support in difficult times for them.

 Taking this opportunity, the President of Iran asked to convey warm words of greetings on his behalf to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan for his support and condolences on the occasion of the tragic event.

 Continuing the conversation, the interlocutors stated that relations between the two peoples go back centuries and have deep cultural roots.  In this regard, it was emphasized that cooperation between fraternal countries in recent years has been enriched with new content and is developing on the basis of the principles of mutual respect and understanding both in a bilateral format and within international organizations.

 “The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the countries with which Turkmenistan traditionally maintains trade and economic relations,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, focusing on the existing prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of fuel and energy complex, transport and communications, light industry, agriculture and the processing industry.

 The cultural and humanitarian sphere was identified among the priorities of the Turkmen-Iranian partnership.
