President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at an expanded government meeting held on December 29, approved the motto for 2024: “Magtymguly Fragi's Fount of Mind”.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, read out the Resolution of the Mejlis on declaring 2024 the year of “Magtymguly Fragi's Fount of Mind”.

The Chairman of the Parliament informed the President of Turkmenistan about the work carried out to select the motto for 2024, taking into account the proposals of members of the country's Halk Maslahaty, representatives of public organizations, labor collectives and citizens.

As Dunyagozel Gulmanova noted, the main motive was the desire to connect the motto of 2024 with the name of Magtymguly on the occasion of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s poem “Magtymguly Fragi's Fount of Mind” dedicated to the poet.

Also, the emblem of next year was presented to the head of state for consideration.

Having approved the proposals of deputies and people on the motto and emblem of next year presented by the head of the Mejlis and members of the Halk Maslakhaty, the head of state approved the motto of 2024 – “Magtymguly Fragi's Fount of Mind”.

As noted in the resolution of the Mejlis, preparations are underway in Turkmenistan for a widespread celebration in 2024 at the global level of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi. The majestic sculpture of Magtymguly Fragi, being built at the foot of the Kopetdag, is clear evidence of the great respect of the current generation for the life and creative heritage of the great poet.

“With the acquisition of independence of our state, the dreams of the great thinker about building a powerful independent state, a friendly, peaceful and prosperous life for our people have fully come true,” the Mejlis resolution claims.
