Two new gas turbine units for the production of electricity, recently put into operation at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, have been awarded certificates from leading scientific departments of the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the launch last Friday of new power units and a reconstructed power plant at the Turkmenistan Refinery Plant, a ceremony was held to present international certificates from the German Fraunhofer Institute of Energy Economics and Energy Systems Technology, the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg – for quality, for the best engineering project  , for an environmentally friendly and sustainable project.

The capacity of two gas turbine units at the Turkmenistan Oil Refinery Plant is 70 megawatts.  Their commissioning makes it possible to increase the production performance of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries and creates the opportunity to supply surplus electricity generated here to the country’s energy system.
