President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed on Wednesday for an official visit to the Republic of Turkey, TDH reports.

At the Ankara air harbor, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was met by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar, other officials, as well as representatives of the country's business community.

During the conversation, the high level of Turkmen-Turkish relations, developing along an ascending line across their entire spectrum, was noted with satisfaction. Today, Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the Turkmen-Turkish business forum at the Central Office of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey in Ankara. Opening the business forum, the President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that at the current meeting of entrepreneurs of the two countries there will be an exchange of views that will give bilateral interaction a qualitatively new impetus and will allow us to consider specific issues of joint work.

A meeting between Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled for October 26. Currently, Turkmenistan and Turkey are striving to bring a partnership to a qualitatively new level that fully meets the priorities of socio-economic development and the national interests of both countries. A clear example of this is provided by both successfully implemented large-scale joint projects and planned ones. Over the past three decades, the business circles of brotherly Turkey have proven themselves well in the Turkmen market, which is extremely attractive to foreign partners and investors.

Companies with Turkish capital today make up a significant portion of all foreign companies registered in Turkmenistan that take an active part in the implementation of large-scale programs for the socio-economic development of the country initiated by the President of Turkmenistan, as evidenced by the steadily growing bilateral trade turnover.
