The co-chairs of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission discussed issues of bilateral partnership

 Current issues of bilateral partnership were discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan at negotiations between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

 On the Turkmen side, the co-chair of the Intergovernmental Commission is Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, on the Russian side – Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk, who is on a visit to Ashgabat at the head of a representative delegation of his country.

 At the meeting, the importance of Alexey Overchuk’s meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was noted, during which the head of state gave a positive assessment of the current state of the multifaceted Turkmen-Russian partnership and identified the main directions for its further development.

 During the negotiations, the parties expressed a common opinion on the positive interaction between the two states in promising areas of partnership in the energy sector, transport and logistics sector, and cultural and humanitarian areas.
