President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Sunday left for a working visit to the United States to participate in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Relations between Turkmenistan and the UN are developing in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructiveness. And the current visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to New York, where the UN Headquarters is located, is another confirmation of Turkmenistan’s desire to strengthen a diverse partnership based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and long-term sustainability.
At the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly, new initiatives of Turkmenistan will be announced aimed at ensuring peace and security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals proclaimed by the Community of Nations, including strengthening international cooperation in such areas as energy, transport, ecology and climate change, and the humanitarian sphere.
As part of the visit, which will last until September 20, Serdar Berdimuhamedov is also scheduled to participate in the Summit in the Central Asia-United States of America “C5+1” format.
Along with this, the head of Turkmenistan will hold a number of bilateral meetings, including with the UN Secretary General.
