An agitation and propaganda event under this title, devoted to the study, development and improvement of the national art, inherited from our great-grandmothers, and the wide popularization of a unique craft, the art of needlework, around the world, was held in the assembly hall of the Natural Gas Research Institute of the Türkmengaz State Concern.

The event, organized in the year “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar” by the primary organization of the women’s council of the Türkmengaz State Concern, was attended by specialists from organizations and enterprises of the country’s fuel and energy complex, women and mothers.

It should be noted that recently the wife of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and mother of the President Arkadagly Serdar Ogulgerek Berdimuhamedova, together with her grandchildren, has presented the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan with refined alajas and a tool for weaving them made by Ogulabat eje. This was discussed in detail in the speeches at the event by Orazgul Yazmuradova, a specialist at the Catering and Maintenance Directorate of the Türkmengaz State Concern, and a senior research worker at the Geophysics Department of the Natural Gas Research Institute of the Türkmengaz State Concern.

Beautiful alajas, the creations of the skillful hands of Ogulabat eje and the tool she used to weave them, replenished the list of values of the museum fund, thus symbolizing honor and respect for handmade products, embodied by the primordially natural talent and scrupulous hard work of Turkmen women.

Thus, one of the main values of the museum was a kurte, embroidered with elegant patterns by Ogulabat eje herself for her sister-in-law and donated to the museum in the spring of 2021. In the book Principles of the Turkmen Statehood by our Hero-Arkadag, mention is made of alaja. The National Leader says about the inexhaustible power of alaja and notes that when he sees the alaja woven by his mother, he feels the warmth of her hands.

Today, the national heritage of the Turkmen people, culture and musical art are recognized throughout the world as part of universal values. This is evidenced by the replenishment of the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at the initiative of the Turkmen state with such types of intangible heritage as “Turkmen art of embroidery”, “Sericulture and traditional production of silk for weaving” and “Traditions of retelling the parables of Molla Ependi”. This and many other things were emphasized in the speeches made at the event.

The thematic meeting was also marked by performances of the soloist of the Cultural and Business Center of the Türkmengaz State Concern, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Annagul Gurdova and the Galkynyş Folk Group.
