Council of Elders Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan established

 The Council of Elders of the Halk Maslakhaty has been established in Turkmenistan.  The corresponding resolution of the Presidium of the Halk Maslakhaty was signed on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

 As noted in the resolution, this decision is aimed at “actively involving the elders in the public life of the state, using their rich work and life experience in strengthening the unity of the people and making informed state decisions based on discussion.”

 This resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, which took place on Tuesday, July 18.  The document, which was published on Wednesday in the country’s leading media, also approved the position and composition of the Council of Elders of the Halk Maslakhaty.
