Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov: Turkmenistan is ready to consider the issue of gas supplies to Turkey today

 Turkmenistan is ready today to consider the issue of supplying its gas to Turkey.  This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States as a representative of an observer country and a member of the Council of Elders of the UTC, TDH reports.

 Addressing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and focusing on major projects, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that “we, being Turkic states, by strengthening our legal framework, will be able to bring Turkmen warmth to every Turkish family through a policy of diversification.  First of all, Turkmenistan is ready today to consider the issue of supplying its gas to Turkey”.

 The head of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan also proposed to lay a power line to Turkey in parallel with the gas pipeline.

 “This is only what concerns hydrocarbon resources.  With regard to energy, if the need arises, we will be able to lay a power line in parallel with the gas pipeline”, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

 In this regard, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan to implement many joint large-scale projects.

 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to Turkey on Thursday, where, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG).
