Liquefied gas supplied from Turkmenistan on a gratuitous basis in Uzbekistan began to be distributed to low-income residents.  This was reported to Gazeta.uz with reference to the press service of the Khududgaztaminot company.

Railway wagons with liquefied gas have already arrived in Uzbekistan.  Fuel is being distributed among low-income residents of Karakalpakstan, the source notes.

According to the press service of the company, Turkmenistan sent 2,000 tons of liquefied gas.  1,000 tons are planned to be distributed among the residents of Karakalpakstan, another 1,000 tons – in the Khorezm region.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan previously reported that liquefied gas would be distributed free of charge among needy families.

In early February, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed an order on the transfer of liquefied gas to Uzbekistan free of charge.  This action was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

In turn, the Uzbek side sent 20 ambulances to Ashgabat in honor of this significant date.
