Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov: Until 2028, the state will invest more than 278 billion US dollars in the development of Turkmenistan

 Until 2028, the state will invest more than 278 billion US dollars to realize the production potential and develop the social sphere of Turkmenistan.  This was stated by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking on Saturday at a joint meeting of the Milli Gengesh, at which he was assigned the status of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, and he was elected Chairman of the country's supreme body of people's power – the Halk Maslakhaty.

 “In accordance with the Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028, the state will invest 278 billion 900 thousand US dollars to realize the production potential and develop the social sphere,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in his speech.

 The National Leader outlined the main goals of investment, including: improving social security and improving employment, protecting the safety and life of citizens;  achievement of the development of industries and the sphere of social services by increasing the pace of industrialization of the economy, the introduction of digital technologies.

 In addition, among the main goals is the use of geopolitical and geo-economic opportunities of Turkmenistan, taking into account the fact that our country is the heart of the Great Silk Road and has a very advantageous location;  transformation of Turkmenistan from an agrarian to an industrialized state;  increasing the share of the private sector in the national economy, supporting entrepreneurship;  development of the «green» economy.

 “So, dear friends, in general, all this is our main goal, which will create favorable conditions for ensuring the interests and future of our people and every citizen!” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
