The Turkmen side proposes to create a Single Logistics Center to optimize cargo transportation along the transport corridor Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey.  This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the First Summit of the Presidents of the three countries, held the day before in Avaza on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

 - One of the most promising projects could be a new transport corridor on the route Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey.  In this regard, the Turkmen side proposes to consider the issue of creating a Unified Logistics Center to optimize cargo transportation along this route, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at a meeting with Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Avaza.

The Turkmen leader also expressed his conviction that Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey should play a leading role in the process of building a reliable transport bridge in the East-West direction.  Consolidated targeted efforts will allow the parties to reach agreements with other international partners and major investors.

Along with this, it is necessary to more vigorously promote coordinated transport diplomacy in the international arena, which involves active interaction with specialized structures, Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued.  In particular, we are talking about the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the International Road Transport Union and others.

Following the results of the First Summit of the Heads of State of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey on December 14, a package of documents was signed.  Among them is the Memorandum of Understanding on the further development of cooperation in the field of transport between the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.
