The consumption of oil and liquid hydrocarbons in the world in 2022 will amount to 99.82 million barrels per day, which is 2.26 million b/d more than in 2021. This is stated in the monthly forecast of the Energy Information Administration of the US Department of Energy (EIA), Interfax reports.

Thus, EIA raised its forecast, announced in October, by 270,000 bpd.

In 2023, according to the EIA, oil consumption will increase to 100.98 million b/d. A month earlier, the agency predicted an increase in this indicator in 2023 to 101.03 million b/d.
