Turkmenistan celebrates Constitution and State Flag Day

On May 18, Turkmenistan solemnly celebrated the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag of Turkmenistan. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the festive ceremonies in Ashgabat.
In the morning, flowers were laid on the square near the Constitution monument. The head of the state was the first to lay a wreath at the base of the stele. Then the wreath was laid by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Mejlis Gulshat Mammedova.
The event was also attended by members of the government, heads of ministries and departments, heads of foreign diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations.
A flower-laying ceremony was also held at the main flagpole of the country, where a huge cloth of the State Flag rises.
In the evening, in honor of the holiday, a gala concert was given at the Ashgabat amphitheater in Independence Park, the program of which included theatrical compositions, performances by popular artists, children's ensembles and folklore groups.

Since the opening of the transnational Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline in 2009, over 320 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas have been exported to the Celestial Empire. Today, March 26, the grand opening of the Information and Analytical Center was held at the Natural Gas Research Institute of the State Concern "Turkmengas".
