On a polymer plant in Kiyanly located in Balkan region, installation of isobutane production will be constructed.  This is stipulated by the relevant decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Isobutane is produced from natural gas and is widely used in oil refining, which will contribute to increase the range in Turkmenistan produced products with high value added from a hydrocarbon feedstock.  Due to the high octane isobutane is used as a fuel component for combustion engines.

An equally important feature of isobutane is the fact that it does not destroy the ozone layer.  This fact has led to the increasing use of isobutane as a refrigerant for refrigerators today.  Establishing production of isobutane in Turkmenistan will contribute to our country in achieving the goals of the Montreal Protocol to the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out ozone-depleting chemicals and replace them with environmentally friendly substances.

In addition, construction of the facility for the production of isobutane expand the product range and increase the productive capacity of the polymer plant in Kiyanly. Commissioned in October 2018, the largest chemical complex now produces polypropylene and polyethylene from natural gas.
