President of Turkmenistan instructed to continue work on attracting foreign investment in the fuel and energy complex

 Last Thursday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, at which topical issues of the life of the state and drafts of a number of documents aimed at further developing the basic sectors of the national economy were considered.

 During the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov reported on the results of the International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investments in the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan.

 As emphasized, among the main factors of the growing attractiveness of Turkmenistan for foreign investors is the stable economic and political situation in the country, as well as the relevant legislative framework.

 The forum participants were acquainted with the achievements of the domestic oil and gas industry, further plans for its development.  Separate speeches were devoted to such topics as the development of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, the diversification of Turkmen natural gas supplies and the creation of a reliable and stable system for bringing energy carriers and gas chemical products to international markets, the construction project of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India.

 Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that for the development of one of the leading sectors of the national economy – the fuel and energy complex – large-scale projects are being implemented in our country, the necessary conditions are being created for further increasing the production capacity of the industry.

 In this context, the head of state stated with satisfaction that in the development of natural resources, Turkmenistan demonstrates their rational use, concern for environmental protection, and the implementation of important international initiatives to ensure energy security in the regional and global dimensions.

 Noting that in recent years Turkmenistan has significantly strengthened its position in the world energy market as the largest supplier of energy carriers, the President instructed to continue work on actively attracting foreign investment in the domestic fuel and energy complex.

Nayip complex for the production of liquefied gas: ahead of the plan

Over the past five months of this year, the Department for the production of liquefied gas «Lebap» of the State Concern «Turkmengas» produced more than 47.3 thousand tons of liquefied gas, while the implementation of the plan was 105.8%.
