Last Saturday, March 12, from 7:00 am, more than 2,500 polling stations in Turkmenistan began voting in early presidential elections.  In total, about 3.5 million voters were registered to vote.

On the way to the polling stations, performances by popular artists in the country were organized, and traditional Turkmen treats were offered to voters.  The website of the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan conducted a live online broadcast of the voting process from a number of polling stations opened in various regions of the country, which ensured a high level of transparency in the elections.

The elections were held in compliance with the rules of sanitary and epidemiological safety.  Voting participants passed through special frames that disinfected clothes and simultaneously measured the temperature of a person's body.
