The draft Program for the development of the country for the next 30 years was presented to the President of Turkmenistan

Vice-Chairman Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported on the preparation of the draft program “National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052: Revival of the New Epoch of the Sovereign State” at a government meeting last Friday, the State News Agency of the country reports.
As the Vice-Chairman noted, the program document aimed at ensuring the political, economic, social and cultural development of Turkmenistan in the coming 30 years was developed on behalf of the head of state by the Ministry of Finance and Economy together with the relevant ministries and departments, administrations of Ashgabat and regions.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov listed the large-scale scope of the tasks envisaged by this Program. Among them are the structural transformation of the economy, the further introduction of effective mechanisms in the conditions of market economic relations, and the preservation of macroeconomic and financial stability.
It is also planned the rational use of natural resources, the dynamic development of industrial and oil and gas complexes due to the diversification of production, innovative technologies and full utilization of capacities; use of renewable energy sources, including in the field of hydrogen energy.
The draft Program also reflects the issues of environmental protection, the implementation of the «green economy» policy; widespread introduction of the digital economy and digital technologies.
In the transport sector, the formation of multimodal transport corridors and routes is envisaged, taking into account the effective use of the country's favorable economic and geographical position, and the provision of favorable conditions for the development of the transport and logistics system.
The program also touches upon the issues of ensuring food security through the highly efficient use of land and water resources, the production of environmentally friendly agricultural products; dynamic development of competitive, export-oriented and import-substituting industries.
It also provides for the improvement of a favorable business environment, strengthening the role of small and medium-sized businesses, a significant increase in the share of the private sector in GDP, the development of public-private partnerships; implementation of an effective investment policy, wide attraction of foreign investments; cardinal improvement of the social and living standards of the population due to the dynamic, stable and comprehensive development of the national economy.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of adopting a new program document to bring the country to new frontiers, emphasizing that the strategic plan for the coming 30-year period should identify key tasks aimed at ensuring the progress of the state in all areas. In this regard, the Vice-Chairman was instructed to work out in detail with the relevant structures each provision of the program and prepare a draft of the relevant resolution.
It is assumed that the National Development Program for the next 30 years will be considered and adopted at an extraordinary meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, which will be held on February 11.
