Turkmenistan ranked first in the supply of aviation fuel to Georgia in 2021, Report informs citing the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia.  Over the past year, 57.7 thousand tons of jet fuel were delivered from Turkmenistan to Georgia.

The second place in terms of supplies was taken by Azerbaijan, which exported 12,000 tons of this product to Georgia in 2021.

In total, Georgia imported 96.4 thousand tons of aviation fuel last year, which is 70.9% more than the previous year.  Thus, Turkmenistan provided almost 60% of the total volume of jet fuel supplies to this country.

It should be noted that in July 2021, the Turkmen Oil Refinery launched the production of a new brand of aviation kerosene - Jet A-1.  This type of fuel is the European equivalent of TS-1 aviation kerosene, which is also produced at the TCOR.  It is used in gas turbine engines of civil aviation aircraft in Europe, the USA and Canada, including Airbus and Boeing airliners.  Last autumn, the TCOR started producing another type of aviation fuel - for An-2 aircraft, which are widely used for the needs of the agricultural industry.
