Oil and gas and transport sectors are in the priority of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan

 Cooperation in the oil and gas and transport spheres are highlighted as priority areas of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.  This was noted at the regular, 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, which took place on Monday in Ashgabat, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

 The meeting was held with the participation of the co-chairs of the commission – from the Turkmen side, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Chary Gylydzhov, from the Kazakh side – Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.

 The meeting was also attended by heads and representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the two countries.  The agenda includes a wide range of issues related to the implementation of interstate agreements, as well as priority areas for the development of partnership between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

 The parties expressed the need for further intensification of partnership, including in the trade and economic, energy and transport and logistics areas, in agriculture, food and processing industries.  The parties also spoke for the development of cooperation in the field of healthcare and medicine.

 Based on the results of the commission's work, a final protocol was signed.

 On the site of the IGC meeting, bilateral meetings of heads and representatives of ministries and departments of the two countries took place.  During the negotiations, the need to take further measures, taking into account the existing sanitary standards to deepen trade and economic ties, increase export-import operations and expand the range and volumes of supplied goods, was noted.
