The International forum on attracting foreign investment in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the anniversary, the 30th anniversary of the country's Independence, will be held on May 12-13, 2021 in Ashgabat in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to a press release of the HO "Turkmen Forum", which is a co-organizer of the upcoming event.
The organizers are the State Concerns "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmenneft", the State Corporation" Turkmengeologiya", as well as the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan in partnership with the HO" Turkmen Forum " with the support of the British company GaffneyCline.
This prestigious business forum is held to attract investment in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, to develop and strengthen cooperation between state organizations of Turkmenistan and international partners.
The Forum will be attended by about 500 participants from 42 countries representing more than 160 international oil and gas and investment companies, as well as leading experts from major international structures and financial institutions, including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, ESCAP, the International Energy Forum, the CIS Executive Committee, the Global Gas Center, the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries and many others.
A high-level delegation from Azerbaijan, including SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and Vice Economy Minister Rovshan Najaf, will personally participate in the Forum.
During the event, a detailed overview of Turkmenistan's investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector, the latest petrochemical projects and project opportunities will be presented, and the world's leading oil and gas companies will share their vision and experience.
The plenary session will be devoted to the topic "Global trends in the development of energy markets and prospects for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation", which will be addressed by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Mukhammetgeldy Serdarov, Trade Representative of the Prime Minister of Great Britain in Turkmenistan Baroness Nicholson Winterbourne, Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF) Joseph McMonigle, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Armida Salsia Alisjahbana.
The Forum will also discuss the following topics: the role of financial institutions in supporting the global energy agenda; pipeline projects as a driving force for the transition to a low-carbon future; offshore fields of the Caspian Sea: development experience and new investment opportunities; investment projects in the monetization of hydrocarbons-a look into the future.
The purpose of the forum is to expand the opportunities for attracting foreign direct investment in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, and to intensify the regional dialogue on further sustainable development of the energy sector. The event will improve the awareness of potential investors about new investment projects in the oil and gas and gas chemical industries, including optimization of oil and gas production and development of fields on the shelf of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. In addition, the Forum will host a ceremony of signing important contracts and memoranda.
