Turkmenistan and the EBRD sign a number of cooperation documents

On July 28, a meeting with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Following the meeting, documents on cooperation in a number of areas, including energy, were signed.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the meeting, the parties noted that cooperation with the EBRD continues to expand.
It was emphasized that the EBRD supports Turkmenistan’s economic diversification policy, actively supporting the development of green energy, regional connectivity and the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies.
The parties also discussed promising projects for the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and the promotion of regional transport corridors, particularly the Trans-Caspian Corridor.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continuing active collaboration and identifying specific steps to implement these plans.
Following the meeting, a document signing ceremony was held between the EBRD and several government agencies of Turkmenistan.
In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Environment Protection of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the Türkmengaz, Türkmennebit and Türkmenhimiya State Concerns and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding cooperation in the field of sustainable energy, environment protection and the efficient use of water resources in Turkmenistan.
Transactions for the export of LNG and jet fuel were entered at exchange trading
On Monday, August 22, 12 transactions were concluded at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan for a total of $5.4 million, the ORIENT news agency reported.

In the Balkan region, a key region in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, it is planned to increase natural gas production to 11 billion cubic meters per year by 2025. Modern Information and Analytical Center for sustainable energy development has been opened in Turkmenistan
Today, March 26, the grand opening of the Information and Analytical Center was held at the Natural Gas Research Institute of the State Concern "Turkmengas". The center is equipped with the latest IT equipment purchased with the support of the European Union project "Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024-2028", funded by the European Union and the German Foreign Ministry and implemented by GIZ.
