Today, March 26, the grand opening of the Information and Analytical Center was held at the Natural Gas Research Institute of the State Concern "Turkmengas". The center is equipped with the latest IT equipment purchased with the support of the European Union project "Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024-2028", funded by the European Union and the German Foreign Ministry and implemented by GIZ.

This action is an important step towards sustainable and environmentally friendly energy in Turkmenistan, with an emphasis on fulfilling the obligations stipulated by the Global Methane Agreement and the Paris Agreement.

The Information and Analytical Center will create opportunities for the development and upgrading of specialists from both the State Concern "Turkmengas" and the Natural Gas Research Institute through seminars, advanced training programs and the introduction of the latest technologies.

The center will operate with modern equipment, including an LDAR system for detecting gas leaks, which will enhance the professional skills of specialists in collecting, processing and verifying methane emissions data obtained from various international satellite sources.

The opening of the center also facilitated discussions on the introduction of advanced European practices and scientific methods aimed at the transition to a “green” economy, which will allow Turkmenistan to move towards a more sustainable energy future.

The opening ceremony of the Information and Analytical Center was attended by Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Ashgabat Ms. Renata Wrobel, Director of the Program of the German Society for International Cooperation, Dr. Caroline Milow, Representative of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Turkmenistan, diplomat Kubilai Topal, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Bayrammyrat Pirniyazov.
