The construction of the strategic section of the TAPI gas pipeline continues in Afghanistan

The implementation of one of the largest international energy projects of our time, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, is currently underway. The project initiated by the Hero-Arkadag is being consistently implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. It is named "Arkadagyň ak ýoly". The general contractor of the project is the State Concern "Turkmengas", and direct construction work is carried out by CJSC "Turkmengasgurlushyk".
Currently in the construction of the “Arkadagyň ak ýoly” gas pipeline. About 700 Turkmen specialists are involved - engineers, gas workers, welders and builders. More than 250 units of construction and specialized equipment are used at the facilities. Among them are the Zoomlion bulldozers, Komatsu excavators, pipelayers, tubing, powerful truck cranes and other modern equipment. Supply of pipe products, equipment and necessary materials. In particular, the Indian company MAN Industries Ltd signed a contract for the supply of more than 150,000 meters of steel pipes with a total cost of over $190 million.
To date, the company has produced more than 108 thousand meters of pipe products. A significant part of the deliveries has already been delivered through the ports of Poti, Alyat and the international seaport of Turkmenbashi, after which the pipes are transported to construction sites along the route of the gas pipeline in Afghanistan.
Large-scale state support and the created conditions allow Confidently count on the completion of the construction of the Afghan section of the gas pipeline within the scheduled time. At the moment, geodetic surveys have been fully completed throughout the 153-kilometer section, and the route is transferred to contractors. Currently, work is underway to clear and level the route, welding and install pipes, insulation of welds, digging trenches and laying the pipeline.
Particular attention is paid to the construction of control roads along the route gas pipeline. More than 107 kilometers of such roads have already been built, which is important for further operation and ensuring the safety of the facility.
The TAPI project opens up wide economic prospects for Afghanistan. According to experts, the country will be able to receive more than one billion US dollars annually through natural gas transit. This will become an important factor in the development of infrastructure, creating new jobs and improving the standard of living of the population.
The implementation of the TAPI project again confirms the consistent peaceful and creative policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, aimed at ensuring the sustainable development and well-being of the entire region.
