On May 11, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marikan, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Political Affairs to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, as well as Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, Chairman and CEO of the Petronas Group of Companies, and Mohd Jukris bin Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, and CEO of Petronas' Exploration and Production Division, TDH reports.
The guests emphasized Malaysia's particular importance to developing relations with Turkmenistan. As noted, Petronas is honored to work in our country.
The President of Turkmenistan, noting the significant significance of this visit in expanding interstate dialogue, expressed confidence that the meetings and negotiations to be held during the visit will be an important step in identifying areas of bilateral cooperation and implementing specific measures.
Noting that this year marks 30 years of bilateral cooperation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the impressive results of their joint work. During this period, Petronas has been actively involved in hydrocarbon production projects in Turkmenistan, developing the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, and successfully training highly qualified specialists for our country's oil and gas industry.
During the Malaysian delegation's current visit to Turkmenistan, a Protocol on Commercial Terms is planned to be signed between the State Concern Turkmennebit and Petronas Çarigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd.
Using this opportunity, Malaysian representatives assured that Petronas will continue to strictly fulfill its partnership obligations.
The head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to mutually beneficial relations with Malaysia, as well as our country's readiness to consider specific proposals on areas of cooperation of mutual interest.
