On April 16, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and First Vice President of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, who is visiting Turkmenistan on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping, TDH reports.

Ding Xuexiang, emphasizing that China attaches great importance to the strategic partnership with Turkmenistan, conveyed greetings to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of President Xi Jinping.

During the meeting, the significant role of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was noted. In this regard, the head of state wished success in holding the next meeting of the committee with the participation of the First Vice President of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

As noted, the fuel and energy sector is a key vector of bilateral cooperation. This year, Turkmenistan and China are celebrating the twentieth anniversary of gas cooperation.

"We will launch the development of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh field in the Mary velayat. Success in this area is due to active political dialogue at the highest level," said Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recalling his visit to China last year and the recent friendly visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan to China.

It was also emphasized that the Central Asia-China format and the Belt and Road Initiative serve as platforms for multifaceted regional cooperation.

Emphasizing that the further development of relations with the People's Republic of China is one of Turkmenistan's priorities, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted his commitment to further deepening and expanding fruitful cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in expanding the Turkmen-Chinese strategic partnership across a wide range of areas.
