Universities from Turkmenistan and China discussed the creation of a joint energy training center

Representatives of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University and the China University of Petroleum discussed a draft agreement on the establishment of a joint Turkmen-Chinese energy training center during an online working meeting, the Turkmenistan International Information Center reports.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed by the universities in October 2023 served as the basis for expanding the partnership. Later, during a visit by a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Education to Ashgabat, the Chinese side put forward an initiative to open a new educational institution. The project combined the efforts of specialized universities from both countries and the Language Exchange and Cooperation Center under the Chinese Ministry of Education.
In January 2024, a draft agreement regulating educational and organizational matters was prepared, after which the parties began its detailed development.
During the current meeting, participants updated the legal aspects of the document and shared experiences in developing modern curricula. Particular attention was paid to the training of highly qualified bachelor's degree students in the fields of Oil and Gas Engineering and Chemical Engineering, which are of strategic importance to Turkmenistan's energy sector.
The parties emphasized that the creation of the center will be an important step in providing the oil and gas industry with professional personnel and will boost scientific and technological exchange.
In conclusion, the participants noted the successful results of Turkmenistan's policy to expand international ties in science and education, expressing gratitude to the country's leadership for its comprehensive support of such initiatives.
