Turkmenistan’s oil and gas complex summed up its performance for the first two months

On March 7, a meeting was held in the central building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan to review the results of its activities for the first two months of the year, proclaimed “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”.
During the meeting, the tasks set before the country’s oil and gas complex at the regular sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, chaired digitally by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on March 6, were discussed. The meeting focused on the performance of national economic sectors for the first two months of the current year.
Opening the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov noted President Berdimuhamedov placed great trust in workers of the oil and gas industry and was creating all the conditions for improving its operations and developing it based on modern achievements. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the complex’s production facilities were being consistently modernized and its material and technical infrastructure was constantly being strengthened, enabling it to address important and large-scale tasks.
Specifically, the need for further strengthening comprehensive measures to increase hydrocarbon production volumes, efficiently utilizing existing oil and gas production capacity and continuing exploration and development of new fields was noted.
During the meeting, reports on the work accomplished and forthcoming tasks were presented by the Chairman of the Türkmennebit State Concern Guvanch Agajanov; the Minister of State of Turkmenistan – Chairman of the Türkmengaz State Concern Maksat Babayev; the Chairman of the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation Gurbangeldi Garliyev; and the heads of the complex’s associations, directorates, institutions and enterprises.
The meeting focused on increasing oil, gas condensate and liquefied gas production, intensifying work at the Galkynyş gas field, ensuring uninterrupted operation of production facilities, increasing oil and gas production and accelerating construction. Particular attention was paid to the construction of the Serhetabat–Herat gas pipeline, also known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly”, which is an important part of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. Other priority areas were also discussed.
Speakers emphasized the importance of further strengthening the oil and gas industry’s resource base by identifying new promising fields and formations, actively implementing digital technologies in geological exploration and implementing instructions for the further diversification of the industry.
Priority tasks for the oil and gas industry, including the prospecting for and discovery of new fields, the study and introduction of modern technologies in major projects, the attraction of foreign investment and the systematic improvement of the professional skills of industry specialists were also emphasized.
Summing up the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov noted the importance of continuous monitoring of major projects planned and underway in the country’s oil and gas sector, the introduction of modern technologies and the timely and high-quality implementation of production and strategic plans. The Deputy Prime Minister wished every success to the employees of the Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit State Concerns and the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation, outlining specific tasks for them.
