The President of Turkmenistan approved the development and investment strategy for 2026

During the government meeting held digitally by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on January 23, the draft Program for Socioeconomic Development and Investments for 2026 was reviewed and approved, according to the website "Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

A report on the draft of this program was made at the meeting by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov. According to the program, it was reported that during 2026, measures are envisaged to maintain the stability of macroeconomic indicators, diversify the spheres of the national economy and strengthen the country's economic power. Among the planned work is ensuring the integrated development of industries, increasing the level of industrial and innovative development, and full involvement of the production capacities of industrial enterprises.

The priorities for the current year indicate the increase in the competitiveness of the national economy due to the development of export-oriented and import-substituting industries and, ultimately, to increase foreign trade turnover.

In addition, it is planned to increase the production of environmentally friendly, high-quality agricultural and other products, implement measures to ensure food security and environmental protection, and further introduce modern digital technologies and a “green” economy, improve the quality of the population provided transport, housing and communal services, social and other services.

Among the long-term plans is the progressive development of small and medium-sized businesses. Work will continue to intensify investment policy, increase investment, which will be directed to the construction of industrial and social facilities, as well as to commission new production facilities and create jobs in the regions.

Along with this, it is planned to take measures to ensure the social security of the population, systematically increase income and improve the social and living conditions of citizens.

After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that ensuring the stable socio-economic development of the country is one of the key tasks. This contributes to the coordinated development of the economy, to improve the standard of living of the people. Having approved the project “Programs of socio-economic development and investments of Turkmenistan in 2026”, the head of state instructed the Vice-Chairman to carry out the appropriate work.
