On December 10, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Hiroyuki Tsubai, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Friendship Group, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in celebrations marking International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, according to the Turkmenistan International Information Center.

Hiroyuki Tsubai congratulated the country's leadership on the anniversary and noted the contribution of National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to strengthening Japanese-Turkmen relations.

Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the Japanese representative's visit creates additional opportunities to discuss prospects for further cooperation.

The parties noted that relations between Turkmenistan and Japan are built on mutual respect and equality. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint economic projects. In particular, the role of Japanese companies was emphasized, including ITOCHU, which participated in the construction of major industrial facilities, including a natural gas-to-gasoline plant in Ovadandepe and other important enterprises.

The Turkmen side expressed its commitment to implementing modern technologies, adhering to environmental requirements, and expanding cooperation with foreign investors.

Hiroyuki Tsubai expressed gratitude for the favorable conditions for Japanese business and expressed his readiness to facilitate the further development of the partnership.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to strengthen bilateral ties.
