President of Turkmenistan's state visit to Uzbekistan has successfully concluded

On Monday, November 17, the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Uzbekistan concluded, TDH reports.

As part of the visit, the President of Turkmenistan participated in the seventh consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia on November 16, where he made proposals aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation and friendly relations.

On Monday, the President of Turkmenistan laid flowers at the Independence Monument of Uzbekistan, after which high-level Turkmen-Uzbek talks were held with the participation of delegations from both countries.

During the talks, it was noted that the trade and economic partnership is steadily developing and currently encompasses such areas as trade, transport and communications, fuel and energy, industry, agriculture, and environmental protection. Furthermore, a dynamic growth in mutual trade turnover was noted.

The energy sector was named one of the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries. As noted, Turkmen electricity is currently being exported to Uzbekistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that effective partnerships are also developing in the gas sector. In this regard, the head of state expressed his readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. The advisability of continuing discussions on strategic cooperation in the gas sector was also noted.

Following talks on the digital system, the heads of state took part in the commissioning ceremony of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone.

Following the talks, a package of bilateral documents was signed.

Following this, a ceremony was held to award President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the highest state award of Uzbekistan, the "Oliy Darajali Dustlik" Order.

Following the high-level talks, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived at Tashkent International Airport. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the results of the talks and the agreements reached, and reaffirmed the continued development of cooperative relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan based on good-neighborliness, mutual benefit, and equality.

After this, the President of Turkmenistan concluded his state visit to Uzbekistan and departed Tashkent.

Thus, the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan became an important event in the development of friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, as well as in the exchange of views on regional and international issues.
