Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, thanked US President Donald Trump for his support of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
Hero-Arkadag made this statement on October 20 at a ceremonial meeting to mark the start of construction of the next stage of the TAPI gas pipeline in Afghanistan along the Serhetabat-Herat route, known as "Arkadagyň Ak ýoly”. His speech was published on the TDH website.
"I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, for his support of such significant international events held in our country, as well as for his support of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project," said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In his speech, he noted that "the United States of America was among the first to support the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project."
Geroy-Arkadag highlighted the contribution of the American company Bownstein, which is serving as a consultant on the TAPI gas pipeline project.
"Bownstein provides valuable and useful recommendations in the implementation of such a grand project," noted the head of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.
"The TAPI gas pipeline is of enormous importance for the prosperity of neighboring states and the region, and for the formation of an economically sustainable space," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
"Our dedicated gas workers have successfully laid the 214-kilometer Turkmen section. Today, we are witnessing the continuation of the next stage of the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline, known as the Arkadagyň Ak ýoly, to the Afghan province of Herat. It is 153 kilometers long," said Hero-Arkadag.
"I take this opportunity to thank our dedicated gas workers for their participation in the implementation of this large-scale project between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, as well as the Afghan side for their support of this project and their participation in its implementation," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, wishing the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the Turkmen and Afghan peoples to flourish forever!
