Meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ashgabat

On October 13, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation, as well as the 13th meeting of the commission, TDH reports.

The meeting between members of the representative delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, who arrived in Ashgabat, and representatives of the Turkmen side demonstrates their commitment to further expanding the multifaceted partnership between the two countries.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to the consistent development of Turkmen-Russian strategic cooperation in all areas. Particular attention was paid to issues related to the implementation of previously reached agreements, mutually beneficial projects, and the full utilization of the existing enormous potential.

Currently, relations between the two countries are long-term and are built on the principles of equality, trust, and mutual respect. Political dialogue, including multifaceted cooperation at the highest level, is actively developing. Today, Turkmenistan and Russia constructively interact not only bilaterally but also multilaterally.

This is clearly demonstrated by their mutual support for international initiatives and proposals, including those on Caspian cooperation, put forward within the framework of authoritative global and regional organizations such as the UN, the CIS, and others. In this context, the parties highlighted the recent second Central Asia-Russia Summit and the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State held in the capital of Tajikistan.

The meeting continued with a discussion of the state of bilateral economic ties and the specification of cooperation plans. Representatives of the two countries confirmed their readiness to actively participate in the implementation of large-scale programs and projects and voiced specific proposals for expanding fruitful cooperation.

Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed: the Protocol of the 13th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, as well as agreements on cooperation in education, agriculture, commodity exchanges between the two countries, horse breeding, and between customs authorities.

The Turkmen-Russian talks reaffirmed the parties' commitment to further strengthening their mutually beneficial partnership. The signed documents will be aimed at achieving concrete results, thereby fully realizing the enormous potential of bilateral cooperation in relevant areas.
