As part of a working visit to the United States on September 24, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the first day of the high-level plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, where he delivered a speech, TDH reports.

In his address, the President of Turkmenistan presented a package of large-scale international initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, security, and sustainable development, making the role of neutrality a central theme.

In his address to world leaders, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that in the current global realities, a decisive shift toward coordinated cooperation among states and international organizations is necessary to achieve the common goal of maintaining peace and security. The practical application of the principles of neutrality is a key tool for achieving this goal.

Among the proposals voiced during the President's address was the holding of a World Summit on a Culture of Peace and Trust to develop a global Code of International Trust.

Furthermore, the head of state proposed organizing, in cooperation with the UN, the International Forum "Central Asia – Space of Peaceful Coexistence," declaring the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport for 2026–2035, and adopting a resolution on the key role of energy connectivity.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also proposed creating a Global Platform for Digital Integration based on the principles of equality and trust, establishing a Regional Center to Combat Desertification for Central Asian countries, holding the Caspian Environmental Forum in 2026, declaring "International Day of Multilingual Diplomacy" and "International Mediation Day," and declaring 2028 the "Year of International Law."
