At the International Forum "Investments in the Future of Turkmenistan - 2025", Aidar Kazybayev, member of the public council of the National Welfare Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Samruk-Kazyna" and head of the Kazakh side of the Turkmen-Kazakh Business Council, spoke about the prospects for Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation.
He emphasized the high level of the exhibition "Investments in the Future of Turkmenistan", which was held on March 17 in honor of the 17th anniversary of the establishment of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
Speaking about the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, Aidar Kazybayev noted that the countries are united not only by a common culture, but also by a strategic location along the Caspian Sea. He said that the trade turnover between the two countries in 2024 amounted to 550 million dollars, and the parties plan to double this amount in the coming years.
"Turkmenistan has unique economic conditions for developing cooperation. We already have many common projects in the field of transport logistics and agriculture. The creation of the Caspian transport hub, as well as the launch of a special website Kaspian.org, will allow us to expand cooperation", he noted.
Kazybayev also emphasized the importance of sustainable business development and the implementation of environmental measures, such as control over greenhouse emissions.
Kazybayev paid special attention to the availability of logistics and communications between the two countries. In his opinion, the resumption of flights between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, as well as the simplification of visa support and payment procedures will significantly improve interaction between the states.
Kazybayev invited representatives of Turkmenistan to the third meeting of the business council, which will be held in Astana in September 2025, and expressed confidence in further deepening bilateral cooperation.
