On February 5, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Akihisa Nagashima, during which they discussed issues of developing cooperation, including in the oil and gas sector, TDH reports.

Noting during the meeting that a number of large projects in the gas industry are being implemented jointly with Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed our country's readiness to build up targeted partnerships in this area.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted the special attention paid in Turkmenistan to diversifying the routes for exporting "blue fuel" and developing the specialized processing industry, taking into account the colossal reserves of natural gas in the country.

As is known, large Japanese companies have been fruitfully working in the gas industry and chemical industry of our country for many years. The goods manufactured at the production facilities built jointly with Japanese partners occupy a large niche in Turkmenistan's exports: they are in growing demand on the domestic market and abroad," said Hero Arkadag.

Among the successfully completed joint projects, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov named the polymer plant in Kiyanly, the urea plant in Garabogaz, the plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in the Ahal region and the Maryazot plant.

In turn, Akihisa Nagashima expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for providing favorable conditions for the constructive work of Japanese commercial organizations in our country.
