Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan aim to promote partnership in the fuel and energy sector, transport and other areas

On February 3, political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were held in Astana, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country reported.

The Turkmen side was headed by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Rashid Meredov, the Kazakh side - by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Murat Nurtleu.

Noting the fruitful nature of the Turkmen-Kazakh dialogue, the heads of the foreign ministries considered a set of issues on the development of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, where there is solid potential for joint work. The importance of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation was noted.

The ministers discussed issues of promoting partnership in such priority areas of the economy as fuel and energy, transport and communications, trade and industrial sectors.

During the consultations, the parties reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements and discussed joint actions for the future.

The diplomats noted that high-level contacts are the main factor in strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the talks, joint actions were also discussed in the current year - the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this context, the positive experience of interaction between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular, the UN, OIC, ECO, as well as in the "CA+" formats, was emphasized. In this regard, the diplomats voiced the readiness of the parties to continue building up multilateral relations.

The ministers confirmed their focus on intensifying inter-parliamentary ties and agreed to increase the pace of interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

Today, March 26, the grand opening of the Information and Analytical Center was held at the Natural Gas Research Institute of the State Concern "Turkmengas".
