Diplomats of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Central Asian countries considered ways to strengthen cooperation

Possibilities for developing cooperation in the energy, trade and transport sectors were discussed in Islamabad at a meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov and diplomats from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, the International Information Center of Turkmenistan reported on Sunday, February 2, citing the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.

The parties discussed issues of further deepening cooperation between the countries of Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Pakistan. In particular, the participants of the meeting considered possible ways to realize the energy, trade and transport potential of the countries of the region.

Also, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, a seminar entitled “International Year of Peace and Trust: Cooperation for Peace” was held in Islamabad, organized jointly with the Office of the Coordinator for UN Affairs in Pakistan and the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI).

The event was attended by heads and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, the UN Office in Pakistan, scientists and diplomats.

The speakers emphasized the importance of the initiative to develop a Global Security Strategy, announced in 2023 by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the session of the UN General Assembly.

The participants of the seminar noted the need to combine efforts to create conditions for moving international relations in a positive direction, strengthening trust in world politics and restoring dialogue between peoples. In this regard, they expressed gratitude and support to the leadership of Turkmenistan for its leading role in promoting policies aimed at solving the problems of strengthening peace and trust.

It was noted that at present, these actions are especially relevant against the backdrop of international problems. The participants of the seminar expressed confidence that 2025 will go down not only in the annals of Turkmenistan, but also in the history of the entire world community, opening up new horizons for building a world based on trust, cooperation and mutual understanding.
