During the International Year of Peace and Trust in Turkmenistan, large volumes of investment will be directed towards the implementation of projects of national and regional importance, including important oil and gas facilities.
As reported at the government meeting last Friday, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the country, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, together with other ministries, departments, regional major’s offices, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag have developed a draft of the “Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2025”.
According to this Program, approved by the head of state during the meeting, this year investments will be directed to the implementation of projects of national and regional importance. Among them: the development of the next stage of the Galkynyş gas field, the construction of the Şatlyk-1 gas compressor station, a section of the Serhetabat -Herat gas pipeline called “Arkadagyň ak ýoly” and is an important part of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,574 MW in the Balkan region, a new international airport in the village of Jebel, the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat international high-speed highway , and a bridge across the Garabogazgol Gulf .
Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of one of the largest projects in the region – the second stage of construction of the city of Arkadag.
Also, with the aim of improving the living conditions of the country's population, investments will be directed towards the construction of residential buildings, healthcare institutions, secondary schools and kindergartens, highways, water, gas, energy and communications systems, and water treatment facilities.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that in the International Year of Peace and Trust, our country is successfully implementing urban development policies, and large volumes of investment are being directed towards the construction of buildings and structures for various purposes.
In this regard, the head of state ordered to monitor the construction in compliance with the high quality of the facilities envisaged in the draft “Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2025”.
