On Saturday, December 28, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The interlocutors exchanged warm congratulations and best wishes in connection with the approaching New Year, confirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening and expanding the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
During the conversation, the importance and relevance of political dialogue, which has proven its effectiveness and compliance with the interests of peace, stability and sustainable development, was noted.
One of the topics of the conversation was the discussion of prospects for cooperation in 2025, which, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, was declared by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, the need to unite and consolidate the efforts of the world community in returning the culture of dialogue, respect and tolerance to global politics is becoming increasingly urgent.
Women are called upon to play a key role in this, with their high responsibility and perception of their humanistic mission to current and future generations.
In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the successful holding of the first Dialogue of Women of Central Asian States and Russia in Turkmenistan in 2022. It was emphasized that the past forum demonstrated the stabilizing and creative role of women in international life, and gave an important impetus to their active involvement in the processes of activating interstate relations.
In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to Valentina Matviyenko to consider the possibility of holding the Second Dialogue of Women of Central Asian States and Russia in May next year in the Avaza national tourist zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.
The event will be especially meaningful because it will confirm the role and historical purpose of the Caspian as a sea of peace, harmony, good neighborliness and effective international cooperation, a place for meetings, dialogue and mutual understanding. This is especially relevant against the backdrop of the current complex trends in world politics. The Second Caspian Dialogue should also demonstrate that this region is increasingly becoming one of the centers of responsible international diplomacy, a focus of creative impulses of cooperation and mutual understanding that will spread far beyond its borders.
