On December 28, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended a New Year's performance at the Main Christmas Tree of the country, located in one of the picturesque corners of Ashgabat. The cultural and entertainment center "Alem" is annually chosen as the main venue for the beloved winter holiday.
The green beauty, crowned with an eight-pointed star with the numbers 2025 and magically sparkling with colorful toys, garlands and lanterns, is installed in the center of the square. A truly fairy-tale kingdom is spread around the Main Christmas Tree of the country, 44 meters high and 16 meters wide.
Children from different parts of our country are invited to the celebration at the Main Christmas Tree. Among them are excellent students, winners of subject Olympiads, sports competitions, creative competitions and others. On behalf of the younger generation, the head of state was congratulated by the main characters of the New Year holiday - Ayaz Baba (Father Frost) and Garpamyk (Snow Maiden), as well as the characters of the symbols of the year. The President of Turkmenistan watched the song and music performances of young artists with pleasure and great interest. The head of state joined this traditional New Year ceremony, which embodies friendship, peace, unity and cohesion.
All children who participated in the celebration were given New Year gifts. At the request of the children, as a keepsake of today's joyful event, the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov took a photo with young Turkmen citizens at the country's Main Christmas tree. Having said goodbye to the participants of the celebration and wished the children a happy New Year, excellent winter holidays, success in their studies, and the fulfillment of their cherished dreams, the President of Turkmenistan got into the car and went to the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the festive marathon continued with a New Year's show with the participation of children's groups, as well as pop artists, theaters and circus.
Members of the country's Government also came here to celebrate with the children, who, like the head of state, brought their children and grandchildren with them. The heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices accredited in Turkmenistan, consular offices of our country in foreign countries, together with their children, also took part in the celebration in honor of the New Year holiday.
The granddaughter of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag - Ayjeren recited a poem and played a musical instrument. Soloists and laureates of many state competitions and international creative festivals also demonstrated their art.
They prepared a special program for the New Year celebrations, including songs of the peoples of the world and modern Turkmen composers and poets, classical works, waltz melodies and choreographic productions based on folklore motifs.
Artists of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater and the Turkmen State Circus performed for the audience. On the occasion of the New Year, a cake was presented to the participants of the celebration.
The head of state, having congratulated those gathered on the upcoming holiday, said goodbye to the participants of the celebration and left the scene of the event.
