Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed prospects for cooperation in the gas sector

Prospects for cooperation in the gas sector were discussed on Thursday in a telephone conversation between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, TDH reports.

During the conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral partnership in the trade, economic and fuel and energy sectors were discussed.

As noted, for a number of years, Turkmenistan, based on the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, equal partnership and mutual support, has been supplying natural gas to Uzbekistan.

In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the high efficiency of joint work in the gas sector, pointing out its long-term nature, and agreed to increase the volume of Turkmen natural gas supplies to Uzbekistan.

They also emphasized the great prospects for the implementation of joint gas projects planned for implementation in the near future.
