Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Strengthen Interregional Cooperation

The opening of the II Turkmen-Uzbek Interregional Forum and National Exhibition of Uzbek Goods took place on November 20 in the White Yurt Complex in the city of Turkmenabat in the Lebap velayat. Entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan presented the achievements of their companies in such areas as the chemical industry, healthcare, oil and gas industry and others.
The opening of the event began with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov. Then the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan made a speech, expressing gratitude to the presidents of both countries for supporting this significant event, emphasizing the strong fraternal relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The exhibition area has pavilions of companies engaged in the mining, metallurgy, oil and gas, electric power and chemical industries, mechanical engineering, in the production of building materials, household appliances and food products, medical supplies, as well as in trade.
The event included bilateral meetings of representatives of private companies and entrepreneurs of the two countries, a round table on “Development of cooperation in trade: creation of favorable conditions and support for business”, as well as a round table on the exchange of experience in the field of culture, cooperation in science and education, and opportunities for developing the tourism industry.
Following the meeting, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulamov noted the importance of this forum for strengthening cooperation.
In the evening, a concert was held at the Seyitnazar Seydi Music and Drama Theater, bringing together artists from the two countries. The program included national songs and dances, and joint performances of Turkmen and Uzbek singers emphasized the cultural kinship and similarity of the Turkic languages.
