Turkmenistan has taken a new step towards simplifying international cargo transportation. Now "green corridors" for trucks using the international road transport system (TIR) or TIR-EPD are operating at full capacity. This means that drivers will no longer have to stand in long queues at the border, but will be able to pass customs control along special lanes, RZD-Partner reports.

The Belarusian Association of International Road Carriers (BAMAP) reported that separate windows and lanes for the passage of trucks with TIR-EPD have been created at checkpoints in Turkmenistan. However, to speed up the procedure, carriers must notify customs authorities of their arrival in advance through a special information system linked to the international customs system.
