QazaqGaz and Gazprom signed agreements for the transit of natural gas through the territory of Kazakhstan

As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov and Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller signed agreements on organizing the transportation of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan through the territory of Kazakhstan, the press service reports  national companies.

The validity period of the signed agreements will be 15 years – until the end of 2040.

These projects will expand the transit potential of the gas transportation system of Kazakhstan, increase economic benefits for the gas industry of the Republic, and will contribute to strengthening regional energy security.

The signing took place in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.

Let us recall that the launch of Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan via the Central Asia – Center gas pipeline took place on October 7, 2023.  The ceremony was attended by the presidents of three countries - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
